A funny story
We were sitting at lunch today. Lisa asked me what I was going to do today between my rehearsal and concert. I told her I might bring my laptop and camp out somewhere. She said, “If you go to Starbucks, you can get a free two hours”…..at which point Sydney sat up straight with an excited look on her face and said, “Free Chihuaua’s???? I want one!!!” I almost yarked my diet squirt!
Missing masticator
Sydney has had this snaggletooth look about her for some time now; her middle bottom tooth sticking straight out ready to fall. Last week, while Lisa was at church, and Sydney was having her evening snack, I hear a blood curdling scream, “MOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! oh, DAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” I almost fell down the stairs trying to see what was wrong. She had taken a bite of a cracker which mostly dislodged the tooth.
The tooth fairy then had to quickly figure out a plan to deliver the goods…..after a few stops, “she” had to settle on 8 fairly shiny quarters.
For those that haven’t experienced this yet, it’s somewhat strange. So, I’m holding a bloody tooth, asking, “now what?” Obviously keep it, but boy does that seem morbid. I settled on a piece of cardstock….taped it, dated it and hid it.
A different approach
Hello all.
Apologies once again for the hiatus between updates. Time, as usual, elusively slips away. Since most of what we want to show you on the blog are pictures, we wanted to come up with a different, (and quicker for us) way of getting them all to you. On Shutterfly, they have a service where it actually creates your own webpage; specifically for sharing pictures. There’s no signing in, or changing of the user code or anything. I set one up tonight and it’s pretty slick. So, for (hopefully) frequent updates of Frey pictures, go to www.freypictures.shutterfly.com. I haven’t played with it too much, but you should be able to see pictures in various albums that we upload. We will try to keep the albums either seasonal (fall 2008) or thematic (Sydney’s birthday).
The beauty is that however much we mess with the site, you’ll always be able to access all the pictures the same way.
Enjoy!
Summer fun!
Lots of updates here. Let’s get started. State Farm Park completely remodeled their pool. It’s amazing! Here’s a pic of the girls one day when we went there this summer. On Father’s Day weekend we had lots of cool family time. We started Father’s Day by having breakfast at IHOP….(yum). Then we headed to the zoo. Here’s a pic of Chris and the girls playing in the sandbox.
For the 4th of July weekend we headed again to Eggleston’s cottage. Here’s a pic in their front yard (which actually faces the lake). Then, Sydney decided to show her stuff on the back of the boat….practicing for her runway debut no doubt.
Last weekend, Michael and Angie came to visit. My dad also came up for the day on Friday. We went to a new microbrew restaurant (Destihl) and had this picture taken. The next day, Michael and Chris went to the Cardinals game. Chris tested the zoom on his camera and got this pic of Albert Pujols.
Ironically, all the guys were throwing Cleezmo a steak shower at Tuckers in Soulard to celebrate the impending arrival of his and Seda’s first baby (a boy). Got some good pics of the guys:

4. Tom
5. Scott
6. Scary Nick
And finally, on Sunday last weekend, Lily surprised us all by taking Chris’ (nearly empty) beer bottle and polishing it off. That kid is crazy. Today, while sitting on Lisa’s lap, she threw her head back and knocked Lisa in the left eye. Lisa now has a really colorful black eye.
Lily continues to amaze us with her clown-like attitude. Luckily for you, it is easy to capture on a photo. Click here to see her latest shot…this was just taken Sunday, July 27th. What a nut!
Lisa’s getting ready for her St. Jude run next Sat. Best wishes to her. She’s raised over $1300 for the St. Jude cancer hospital in Memphis. Great job! To give her some quiet time and time to recuperate after running (probably) 15 miles or more, Chris is taking the girls to St. Louis and is taking Sydney (and grandma) to Six Flags. Should be fun.
We just had our annual family picture taken on Friday. It’s amazing that we got a semi-decent shot since Lily was wiggling all over the place. A portrait is really just the split second between all of the chaos, right? (I’ll link the picture here soon).
Guess that’s got everyone updated. Ciao until next time.
June Updates
It’s been a while – sorry for not posting. The girls continue to grow, grow, grow and are tons of fun! It’s hard to belive but Lily turned 1 this spring! Here are some pictures taken earlier this Spring. We’ve had lots of family and friends over and had lots of backyard time. Enjoy the pictures:

Here is some really great 1988 nostalgia for you. Lisa’s aunt delivered these to me today to use at my leisure…So, here you go:
Lily’s ONE YEAR pics
We took Lily on Friday for her one year pictures. We can’t believe it. She’s getting so big. The portrait places are evil marketing beasts. They take a zillion cute pictures and you feel guilty for not buying a ton of them. So, here are a few of them. Enjoy!!!
Lisa – the faux master!
After 4 1/2 years of wanting a Tuscan looking kitchen and family room, Lisa finally realized her dream this weekend. Chris’ mom came up on Thursday night and on Friday. Holly and Lisa put on two base coats of a yellowish tan color (”Chamois“). Everyone was involved with painting except Chris (he does the taping/finishing stuff); Lisa, Holly, even Sydney. Lily just looked on wondering what the heck was going on. It was tough work and Chris’ mom really helped out a LOT!
The finish turned out great (closeup 1, 2)!! Lisa is a natural with this stuff. Here’s a picture of the finished kitchen. And a couple of the finished family room (1, 2). A very busy weekend keeping up with Lisa and the kids, but a great end result!!
Happy Birthday Mom, Love Lily
Lily gave her birthday gift to Mom this morning. It turns out she is allergic to the same antibiotics as mom and let her know that by waking up with hives from head to toe, swollen eyelids, and purple hands and feet! A virus she caught from Sydney gave her a nice little fever and sore throat all week. We took her to Prompt Care Thursday evening because she got better then worse which usually means ear infection. The Prompt Care mis-diagnosed her as we found out this morning that she never really had an ear infection. In addition, the antibiotic they gave her (which she has had before) caused a lovely little allergic reaction. The good news – no trouble breathing or anything serious. The bad news – Lily looks like a puff-ball! Check out this picture!
Poor baby! Doctor says she’ll be better in a few days…guess Lily wanted to remind mommy on her birthday that she wants to be just like her mom!
Long overdue update
Helllllo:
It’s been forever since I’ve posted. Believe it or not, although life has been nuts since December, not much has really happened. Lily is almost 11 months old and walking now! She’s also getting into everything!! Sydney also got her hair chopped into a cute bob.
Lisa’s mom came and visited for a weekend. Even though she sounded like death from bronchitis, it was fun having her here.
We had breakfast and pictures with the Easter Bunny last Saturday through State Farm. That was fun!
Michael kicked some serious bootay and bought me Guitar Hero 3 for Wii for my birthday. Here’s he and I jamming.
I’m also working on a new stained glass project for Michael’s in-laws. Hopefully I can get it finished in the next couple weeks.
That’s about it for now. As always this time of year, I’m wishing I was hangin’ with the homies in Austin at SXSW.
