A funny story
We were sitting at lunch today. Lisa asked me what I was going to do today between my rehearsal and concert. I told her I might bring my laptop and camp out somewhere. She said, “If you go to Starbucks, you can get a free two hours”…..at which point Sydney sat up straight with an excited look on her face and said, “Free Chihuaua’s???? I want one!!!” I almost yarked my diet squirt!
Summer fun!
Lots of updates here. Let’s get started. State Farm Park completely remodeled their pool. It’s amazing! Here’s a pic of the girls one day when we went there this summer. On Father’s Day weekend we had lots of cool family time. We started Father’s Day by having breakfast at IHOP….(yum). Then we headed to the zoo. Here’s a pic of Chris and the girls playing in the sandbox.
For the 4th of July weekend we headed again to Eggleston’s cottage. Here’s a pic in their front yard (which actually faces the lake). Then, Sydney decided to show her stuff on the back of the boat….practicing for her runway debut no doubt.
Last weekend, Michael and Angie came to visit. My dad also came up for the day on Friday. We went to a new microbrew restaurant (Destihl) and had this picture taken. The next day, Michael and Chris went to the Cardinals game. Chris tested the zoom on his camera and got this pic of Albert Pujols.
Ironically, all the guys were throwing Cleezmo a steak shower at Tuckers in Soulard to celebrate the impending arrival of his and Seda’s first baby (a boy). Got some good pics of the guys:

And finally, on Sunday last weekend, Lily surprised us all by taking Chris’ (nearly empty) beer bottle and polishing it off. That kid is crazy. Today, while sitting on Lisa’s lap, she threw her head back and knocked Lisa in the left eye. Lisa now has a really colorful black eye.
Lily continues to amaze us with her clown-like attitude. Luckily for you, it is easy to capture on a photo. Click here to see her latest shot…this was just taken Sunday, July 27th. What a nut!
Lisa’s getting ready for her St. Jude run next Sat. Best wishes to her. She’s raised over $1300 for the St. Jude cancer hospital in Memphis. Great job! To give her some quiet time and time to recuperate after running (probably) 15 miles or more, Chris is taking the girls to St. Louis and is taking Sydney (and grandma) to Six Flags. Should be fun.
We just had our annual family picture taken on Friday. It’s amazing that we got a semi-decent shot since Lily was wiggling all over the place. A portrait is really just the split second between all of the chaos, right? (I’ll link the picture here soon).
Guess that’s got everyone updated. Ciao until next time.
Lily Laughter
We were playing around with Lily today and for some reason she got a real kick out of something Lisa was doing. Check it out, and see if you can contain your laughter!
Lily’s Baptism
We had a great day today. Lily got baptized. We were thrilled to have lots of family come for the occasion: Mike and Mary (who are visiting for the whole week), my mom and Jerry, Lisa’s Aunt Donna, Lisa’s Aunt Marcy, Uncle Bob and 2nd cousins Frank, Steve and Cassidy, Lisa’s Aunt Karen and Uncle Joe and cousins Amanda and Sarah, Nikki’s husband Paul and the proud godparents, Nikki and Jason (Lisa’s cousin). After the service, we headed to Jumer’s for brunch. It was great to see everyone. Enjoy some pics:
Family Portraits
Hello everyone. Last Friday we had an appointment at a portrait studio called Portrait Innovations. Turns out it was actually cheaper than Sears when all was said and done. We got tons of pictures for the money, but more impressively: they GAVE us the CD with all 70 pictures that they took…..non-protected jpeg files no less. Anyway, because they made it easy, I’m able to put some here.

Nikki’s wedding
This past weekend (July 13-15) we traveled to Racine, WI for Nikki’s wedding to Paul Rauwerda. Their wedding was at a bed & breakfast called Lochnaiar Inn. It sits at the top of a hill overlooking Lake Michigan; very nice. We arrived on Friday afternoon. We had the master suite which had two bedrooms and a large sunroom, which turned into the hangout for the many people for the weekend. It was a really nice room with lots of windows also overlooking the lake. The rehearsal was in the evening on the lawn. On the other side of the fence were the multitude of festivities for the Great Midwestern Dragon Boat Race.
The rehearsal dinner was pizza and treats at the inn, where we got several good pics. The wedding was at 2pm on Saturday. It was very casual, as you can see in the pics (link below) which was good because it was quite warm and sunny. Following the ceremony was an outdoor reception with punch and treats. Then the family had a private dinner at the inn.
All in all it was a very pleasant weekend with friends and family. Unfortunately the weekend ended when Chris went to load the car on Sunday morning to find the van’s driver side sliding door window bashed in and all his electronics stolen (iPod, DVD player, GPS, car chargers, movies etc.). So, the innkeeper, and Jerry did great by cleaning out the glass and taping up a Remy Martin Brandy box over the hole so we could drive home (free advertising??)
Here is a link to the pictures. Enjoy!
Updated Frey girl pics
At several people’s requests, here are some updated pics of the Frey girls this spring. Enjoy!
Spider Dog
Lisa’s dad (AKA Papa Snail) made up a fictitious critter that he teases Sydney with, called Spider Dog. It’s been pretty funny watching her get excited to hear where Spider Dog is hiding this time, or what he is doing (chasing rats in the back yard, climbing up the side of house etc.). Well, Papa Snail put his pipe cleaner artistic skills to work. He bought a stuffed dog, made it into a Spider Dog, and sent it to Sydney. It got me to wondering, “surely there is an internet hit for spider dog out there”. The following entertaining jibjab video proved me right: http://www.jibjab.com/view/149115
Too funny.
Frey Lake Tahoe Expedition
Well, we did it! And that is not a statement to be taken lightly! We travelled over 4000 miles by car, shuttle, plane and van in 5 days from Normal to Lake Tahoe for Gina’s wedding. We had two adults, two kids, a stroller, a baby carrier, two large suitcases, a diaper bag, an electronics carry-on, a breast pump, and a toy bag. (more…)
Lily pictures!

If my half asleep brain figured out the correct way to write and post a webpage, this should be the correct link to some pictures of Lily:
